DIY Lip Balm Recipe
In the interest of reducing plastic waste, I have been buying small, refillable metal tins and experimenting with my own natural lip balm recipes.
To make a natural lip balm for dry skin, you’ll need a blend of natural moisturising, soothing, and protective ingredients. Here is my basic, nourishing formula:
🌿 Essential Ingredients for DIY Lip Balm (for Dry Skin)
| Ingredient | Purpose | Suggested Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Beeswax (pellets or grated) | Provides structure and a protective barrier | 1 part |
| Shea Butter or Cocoa Butter | Deeply moisturises and heals dry, chapped lips | 1 part |
| Carrier Oil (e.g. Avocado, Sweet Almond, Jojoba, or Coconut Oil) | Nourishes and softens the skin | 2 parts |
🌼 Optional Add-Ins (Choose Based on Preference)
-
Vitamin E oil (a few drops): Antioxidant and skin healer.
-
Honey (¼ tsp): Natural humectant, adds moisture and a hint of sweetness.
-

-
Calendula-infused oil: Soothes cracked or inflamed lips.
