Usually the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of an illness cannot heal until the spiritual aspect is healed. I connect with divine spiritual forces and universal creative energy to intermediate with the spirit world on behalf of my clients for the purpose of guidance and healing. I do not consider myself to be a healer; as with traditional Shaman I am a conduit to the spirit world enabling the spirits to do the healing work.
Shamanic healing focuses on the spiritual aspect of illness; removing the blockages that obstruct the flow of life force energy in us and returning the divine light that we have lost through negative life experiences so that we can find a new way of being.
Our automatic operating system has been developed in the limbic system through years of trauma and stress creating automatic fight or flight responses which cannot be consciously controlled.
These subconscious programmes run our lives for us by triggering extreme emotions, repeating negative patterns of behaviour, or creating damaging reactions. They exist under the belief systems and agreements that we have accepted as our own throughout our lifetime.
By changing the agreements that we have made in the past we can erase disempowering behaviour patterns and beliefs. We use the Spirit Mind to discover what agreements underlie the behaviours we want to change, then consciously select another agreement. This process lays new foundations for more positive belief systems that will change instinctual response patterns and in turn drive changed behaviour, achieving better outcomes in our daily lives.
It is this shift in energy occurring on a subconscious level that distinguishes Shamanic work from psychoanalysis, which can only give us a cognitive understanding of the situation rather than any real change in behaviour.
For example, a woman who was abandoned in childhood may hold a subconscious agreement that she is not worthy of love and appreciation from others, which could manifest in her life as a fear of public speaking. Shamanic work goes beneath the trauma, directly into the limbic system, to remove old programmes of behaviour and reprogram the mental computer system to bring the client back into right relationship.
Sources of trauma may include, but are not limited to:
- physical and emotional abuse during childhood
- domestic abuse from spouses or partners
- bullying in the workplace
- disrespectful friendships
- physical attacks
- online bullying
- all forms of sexual abuse
As well as healing your physical and mental ailments, the aim of this work is to reconnect you to your own spiritual journey and support you towards listening to your own inner guidance for personal sovereignty and power so that you can enjoy your life and fulfil your potential.
